#4 Mesjid Baiturrahim, Ulee lheu. The Way to Remember.

perspective mosque

Baiturrahim mosque is one mosque that has a history for Banda Aceh. Start from the Dutch colonial period to the present. This mosque could be a way to remember.

This mosque was built in the 17th century during the reign of the Sultanate of Aceh. At the time when the Dutch take control of Baiturrahman mosque, the people of Aceh do Friday prayers at this mosque so that its name became Baiturrahim.

This mosque suffered some other major events, it could be a way to remember about God, the Lord of the Universe. Ranging from the massive earthquake in 1983 that destroyed the dome of the mosque to the earthquake and tsunami in 2004.
In 2004, all the buildings around the mosque was destroyed by ground, but the mosque is  one of God's house, still standing tall among other ruins. So let see all about this mousqe.

THE GATE

This mosque has a main entrance which is located east mosque. Shaped beam with four small domes in each corner. If we can stand right in the dome we can immediately see the front facade of the mosque which has three main pillars using a curved shape. Its remains us  about architectural style in  renaissance's period

THE MOUSQE

three main pillar

Buiding's Mosque is quite simple. In the front there are three main pillars that serve as the main entrance to the mosque. This mosque dome roof is not like most other mosques, only roofs plana.

This mosque simentri shaped, with an entrance in the south and the north. Has a window with a wide opening and a vernacular form. Arranged in multi-story window as the south and north. Placement of openings in the north and south are very suitable for building in tropical regions considering the wind direction.

Framing by Tree

In the afternoon, no recitation for children held in the mosque, so that the mosque is more crowded in the afternoon in comparison to the morning.

Around the mosque there are few trees, so i try to take a photos with framing but isnot too good.

THE MINARET

All Part Of Minaret

Not all mosques have a minaret. Minaret function to call for pray.
when i saw the minaret, remains me about the conquest of the cities in Europe by the previous Muslim caliphs, where the minaret is made to carry a higher call to prayer so as not to lose the sound of church bells.

North side of the mosque minaret is located. Surprisingly minaret has only two windows. Minaret also arched window shape, dominated by the style of Renaissance style.

That's all about baiturrahim mosque. for next post it will be baiturrahaman mosque at night XD.

#3rd Hunting "Welcome to Harapan Bangsa Stadium - Banda Aceh"

For architecture photography's class last Monday, we went to  Harapan Bangsa Stadium at Lhongraya. We chosen this object for our third hunting. It was bright day, the sky is very-very good to take photos :D.

And it was my first time for been there. ^.^ My first experience to go to a huge stadium.
But first, before i share my experiences let me tell you some fact about this stadium.

Inside the Stadium

Harapan bangsa Stadium , or some called it lhong raya Sadium it was home for Persiraja football club and Atjeh Unitet FC football club. This stadium has 45000 sit (wow.. !!!). Its a huge stadium in Banda Aceh. The first opening for this stadium is in 2000. And had renovated in  2011. Its the bigger stadium in Banda Aceh. Not just for football, some kind of sports use this stadium to for their exercise.

When i went there, a thing that catch my eyes was a triangle roof. Its dominating front of building. Really a building in tropics climate.

Triangle Roof
It makes a rows, and something specific for this stadium.

Row Of Roof

The Shadows

Repetition Structure

A triangle roof is for front side and back side stadiums. This triangle composed by steel pillars for structure, it has repetitions pattern.

The right and the left side use arc roof for cover the sits. It has red pillar for sustain the roof. it is wide roof. Same like triangle roof, this arc roof composed by steel pillars to, but with different pattern.

Red Pillars

But because banda aceh has wide wind, a roof cover fly away from the roof. Its make a hole in arc roof.

When i went there, i could see some of atilt doing exercise. I saw a young girls was doing athletic. They run for a few times. The coach said "one more times" but wouldn't be one more times until they doing right.

Take a Step

Their spirit is very good, we should them to reach our dream. Never stop run, never give up to make your dream come true. So, lets run to finish this dream. And believe God see every step that we take, and every step that we take it make the dream is closer.

If you wanna buy fresh fishes in banda aceh you might go to lampulo. Its the biggset fish market in banda aceh. You can find all kinds of fish there. Its open all days. But if you go there on weeked esspecially on morning you also could find a lot of citizen.

A basket of fish

A Serious Fisher
Lampulo is not just a the biggest fish market in banda aceh.. But from my eyes it has another story. About  fisher,  boat and thaksfull what you have.

For a weeks,  fisher go to sea for feed their family. they from all of ages, there a young man and old man. Eventhough they are really tried with their fight but finally they still happy when they saw what they got.
Eventhough they have to carry a tens of fish's basket, they still look happy with they did. Its look they really love their job and their live without regret what God Gift to them. it told me how to praises this live and love what i have.

and have you think about sea and fish?? Everyday fisher go to sea for catch fish but fish in the sea it never stop be there. And if we try to count maybe it almost a thousand fish, It shows us how God gift for humans its never stops eventhough we always forget to praises at least to say thanks for everything God gift to us.
and the last thing that i learn is about a boat. Its very very smaller than sea. But the fisher trust and believe without fear,  the boat could help them to feed their live and their family to continue this live. it shows us if you wanna fight it not about how big your weapon and how or who is you enemy. But its about trust, believe, and faith. After you try and put everything in Gods hand then everything will fine.
